Preparing the structure and mounting the equipment, so what sits on the pole is supported properly for the next twenty years.
A recloser rated for 30 000 operations will outlast a compromised pole. Before anything is mounted we assess whether the existing structure can carry the load, and what preparation it needs.
The REC15 weighs 68 kg, the REC25 72 kg and the REC35 95 kg, before the control cabinet, mounting brackets and any voltage transformers are added. That is a meaningful load on a structure that may already be carrying conductors, and it changes the wind loading profile of the pole.

What matters in practice

Load is more than equipment weight
The switching module, control cabinet, VTs and brackets combine. Wind loading on the added surface area matters as much as static weight.

Access for maintenance
Equipment mounted without thought for how a technician reaches it becomes equipment nobody inspects. Position affects whether it gets maintained.

Operating clearance
Statutory clearances to conductors, ground and adjacent structures have to be maintained after the equipment is fitted, not just before.

Existing structure condition
A pole that was adequate for conductors alone may not be adequate once a 95 kg recloser and its cabinet are added.
